ABOUT

Through all these adventures, which included living in Costa Rica for two years in search of the perfect intentional community, I finally settled into self-trust, discovering an enduring self-love. I had done hundreds of tarot readings, and received abundant feedback that I had knowledge and skill as a tarot reader. I am a nature lover, a druid, a witch and a Buddhist. An INFP, a Romantic, and afficionado of Jung and depth psychology, and a connoisseur of cats.

And I am in love with the tarot, the oracular moment, and what it can do for us. The mysterious Book of Life that is the tarot deck is a guide that helps us find and trust our inner guide, the Self, or Inner Guide that accompanies us unfalteringly through this world.

While a tarot reading has often been called “fortunetelling,” much of the cultural baggage of that term obscures more than clarifies what happens in a reading. The truth is no reading removes your free will. You won’t learn of fated events in your future about which you can do nothing. The cards help you to step into your power, take charge of your life, and creatively navigate your way through whatever circumstances the universe puts before you. They translate the messages sent to us from the Divine via our intuition, in a form that we can understand.

I am on a spiritual quest, and I know you are, too. My clients are mature, talented, knowledgeable people who want to know more. They want to discover the fundamental nature of reality in this life. They want to be happy. They want to listen to the still, small voice of the divine within. They ask big questions and seek deep answers. They want to find magic in this world and in themselves. And, they find all of this in tarot readings, with me as their guide. I look forward to seeing what’s in the cards with you.

My name is Heather Smith. I tried to follow a conventional path, but it didn’t stick.

I went to university and studied psychology, history, religion and literature. In the process of acquiring two rather useless master’s degrees, I learned a lot about the psyche, history, religion and literature. Along the way I discovered witchcraft and tarot, was initiated in two traditions of witchcraft and one Druidry tradition, and embraced the path of a bodhisattva by becoming ordained as a Zen Buddhist.

I read the tarot mostly for myself for many years, and occasionally for friends. While there were periods when I wouldn’t work with it for a few months, I always came back to tarot, fascinated by its mysterious wisdom and beautiful images. Then, at the invitation of a friend, I started to do readings at some conferences.
